“Ask, and it will be given you.Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you” (Matthew 7:7)
Is it really true that we always receive from God when we ask?
Though I have known quite a number of people who testified God answered their prayer before they even dare to ask for it. Unfortunately not in my case.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:9-11)
I do not have kid of my own yet, but if I had and s(he) begs to eat big mac everyday, as sweetly and persistently s(he) might have asked for it, would I agree to it. No way!!
Then how can we be certain that what we ask God is bread (and not stone), or is it really fish you want (it could be snake without we realize it)?
God is is omniscient, all-knowing, and does not exist within time and space (2 Peter 3:8). For that reasons He knows ahead whether that thing you are going to ask will be good or not for you.
To recap, God is far better Father and He loves us more than our earthly parents do. When we can’t understand why our prayer goes unanswered is it perhaps we have been asking for stone (not bread), and snake (not fish), what’s more .. perhaps that thing we ask God for will only draw us further away from God.
” .. for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:8)
